RJ 100.3fm & UR 105.9fm movie premier: "Mamma Mia!" - July 10, 2008
If the name "Mamma Mia!" rings a bell to you, then it's probably because you've heard it from one of the songs of 70's hit-makers, ABBA. "Mamma Mia!", however, was made into a Broadway musical, based on the songs of ABBA, and was then made into a movie last year, based on the musical itself. RJ 100.3fm was proud enough to have premiered this fun-loving, lighthearted and family-based motion picture that was held at the Rockwell Cinema 1. This is the type of film you would want to go and see, especially if you're familiar with ABBA's famous hits: "Dancing Queen", "Take A Chance On Me", "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme (A Man After Midnight)", "Voulez-Vous", "S.O.S.", "I Have A Dream", and of course, the self-titled song, "Mamma Mia!", and a whole lot more! No one could ever forget these memorable songs, especially if they're sung by the cast members themselves. Who knew that actors like Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried all had the courage to lend out their vocal prowess, considering they're not singers to begin with, but they surely are some of the best actors in Hollywood! RJ UR 105.9fm movie premiere of "Wanted" - June 23, 3008
The movie, "Wanted" was premiered by RJ 100.3fm last year, of June 23, 2008 at The Rockwell Cinema, along with our invited VIP guests and sponsors. For those who haven't seen "Wanted" yet, it is a film directed by Russian director, Timur Bekmambetov, on which he based the movie on the comic-book series by Mark Millar and J.G. Wells. On this cinematic version, it blows your mind with an astounding pièce-de-special-effects-résistance, and includes a driven, action-packed flick, that stars James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, and Morgan Freeman. The story basically revolves around the principal character, Wesley (played by McAvoy). At first, he starts out as a spineless, pathetic loser, whose miserable life is stuck behind an office cubicle, and is being mistreated by his colleagues, as well as being used and disrespected by both his cheating girlfriend and his un-loyal best friend. All that is about to change, when Fox (Jolie) crashes into his life, and brings him to the Fraternity. Wesley is then introduced to Sloane (Freeman), leader of the Fraternity. He starts training with them, until he is a skilled assassin himself, and finally finds out about the real secrecy behind the organization. -

Legends of Guitar - Nokie Edwards in the Philippines
In 1996, ten years after Ramon “RJ” Jacinto trailblazed through uncharted gigging territory and established the first RJ Bistro, he staged a special, two-part concert series featuring himself and none other than Ventures lead guitarist, Nokie Edwards. With opening performances from Mitch Valdes, Jimmy Colayco (The Riots), Ben Tesoro (The Hi-Jacks), Eddie Nicolas (The Moonstrucks) and Dr. Bols Eraña (The Rioteers), Legends of Guitar was first presented to a jampacked audience at the RJ Bistro along Makati Avenue.
